Guntur District

Guntur  is a centre of education & learning and is home of historically significant Amaravati, Bhattiprolu and Sitanagaram monuments.

The district was situated between 79º 10′ and 80º 55’E, of the eastern longitudes and 15º 18′ and 16º 50’N, of northern latitudes.
The district is bounded on the southeast by the Bay of Bengal, on the south by Prakasam District, on the west by Mahabubnagar District, and on the northwest by Nalgonda District.

The district has population of 48,89,230 as per the 2011 census which accounts for 5.77% of the total population of the State with 9.50% decadal growth.
